Jack Rudy is an architect of modern tattooing. Alongside Charlie Cartwright at Good Time Charlie's Tattooland in East Los Angeles in the 1970s, Rudy revolutionized the craft by modifying rotary and coil machines to operate single needles smoothly into skin. This gave birth to the global fine-line black-and-grey movement that defines West Coast street culture and high-fashion micro-tattooing today.
